Romana Is Seven!
This past week Romana had her seventh birthday. She's still happy and healthy and playful as ever, and still as skillful at getting into trouble as ever. It's hard to believe she's a little old ferret lady now. Until Chin Soon arrived last summer she had always been the youngest in the group.
Considering how rough a start she had in her life (she was literally starving when we brought her home as a five and a half week old kit) it's amazing that she has remained healthy and strong through most of her life and into old age. I couldn't wish for a sweeter ferret and I'm hoping to have similar reports at future birthdays.
Nyssa, amazingly, continues to hang in there as well and has been a real sweetheart with Summer. Her diarsanyl (dairrhea medication) was discontinued a couple of weeks back and she has suffered no ill effects so it seems we were dealing with ordinary stomach problems, not lymphoma invading her GI tract. This is immensely good news. Despite the dire prognosis she's received from all three vets who have treated her since she was diagnosed with lymphoma we've been able to keep her happy for nearly 11 months. I am VERY grateful for that.
Once again, happy birthday Romana!
