A very depressing time...
I'm in Kentucky. My ferrets are with my ex-housemate in North Carolina. That's bad enough. Now Nyssa has what appears to be lymphoma and is going downhill quickly. She's nearly blind on top of it, or maybe because of it. Lady Ayeka, who was diagnosed with lymphoma in early August is starting to go downhill too. I can't get back there until next Thursday night. I just hope I get some more time with them.
The plan was to move the ferrets to my new home that weekend. Now I'm not sure we will. I don't want to stress Ayeka or Nyssa and I fear what would happen if there was a crisis en route. It's probably best if they are near the vet who's treated them since they were kits and in familiar, comfortable surroundings. I just can't stand that I'm not near them or able to spend time with them.
Romana and Chin Soon will move here, but only once Nyssa and Ayeka are gone. Then I'll probably adopt another ferret or two so that someone can keep up with Chin Soon and give her the active play she now demands. For a ferret who was once afraid of other ferrets she really has come a long way and loves to wrestle. I just don't think Romana has anywhere near her level of energy.
Anyway, right now, all I can do is hope Nyssa and Ayeka can hang in there.
